St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse junior Eliza Lundberg drives for a shot late in the Eagles' blowout of Prescott Jan. 26.

Going into the last weekend of regular season basketball in the Southeast 1B league, Colton remains at the top followed by Pomeroy, Oakesdale and St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse – which has a secure path to the fourth and final spot in the district playoffs with two wins over Garfield/Palouse.

The Vikings are in fifth, narrowly, losing to SJEL 45-43 Dec. 15 and 34-30 two weeks ago.

Colton 54-Oakesdale 39

Facing the league-leaders at home Jan. 28, the Oakesdale girls stayed with Colton for much of the game, tying the score at halftime and trailing by five into the fourth quarter.

Colton then went on an 11-0 run to start the fourth, taking control of the game.

A steal by Maggi Pluid late in the third quarter sparked it, ending with a Jordyn Moehrle lay-up.

Moehrle led the Wildcats (16-2 overall, 10-0 in league) with 14 points while Dakota Patchen had 13, Emily Schultheis 11 and Pluid had eight points and six rebounds.

Logan Reed led Oakesdale with 15 points while Lizzy Perry had 10.

Colton 82-St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse 18

At home Jan. 25, Colton's Patchen stacked eight three-pointers and scored 33 points in a league win over the Eagles. In a span during the first and second quarters, Colton scored 21 unanswered points, leading at halftime 53-11.

Rylee Vining scored 11 points for the Wildcats and Jordyn Moerhle nine. Moehrle added six assists and Schultheis had seven rebounds.

"When we play Colton, we have to make our own goals," said St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse coach Jessica Mills.

One of those was to guard the perimeter more, which the Eagles did, while Patchen and the Wildcats kept hitting three-pointers.

"She was fully covered," Mills said of Patchen. "She can shoot. They all can."

Colton finished 15-for-21 in three-point attempts.

Garfield/Palouse 57-Touchet 28

Freshman Kenzi Pedersen scored 22 points and had nine rebounds as the Vikings won on the road Jan. 25.

St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse 66-Touchet 30

Freshman Brooklyn Bailey led the Eagles with 14 points at home Jan. 26 as senior guard Alynn Harder added 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

"She is probably my most consistent scorer," said SJEL Coach Jessica Mills. "She does that about every game."

Drew Curtis-Brewer added 11 points and Roxy Dickerson nine.

THIS WEEK

Colton goes to Touchet Friday, Feb. 1, while Pomeroy plays at Gar/Pal and Oakesdale goes to St. John. On Saturday, Prescott travels to Colton, Garfield/Palouse is at Oakesdale and SJEL hosts Touchet on senior night.
