Colton seeks levy to paint water tank

The town of Colton will seek voter approval of a special levy on Feb. 12 for $30,000 to fund painting the inside of the town's water tank.

The proposal was planned to go to voters last November, but did not make it on the ballot due to timing of its filing with the Whitman County Elections department.

If passed, the levy would be collected in 2020 at a rate of $1.06 per thousand dollars of assessed property value.

Levies for the Colton, Oakesdale and Lamont school districts and Tekoa Parks and Recreation will also be on the ballot....
