Unveiling at The Center: Gary and Trudy Libey of Colfax reach up to pull the wraps off the new plaque which honors the Libeys and Don and Bettie Steiger for donations which led to the development of The Center at the library. Library Director Kristie Kirkpatrick noted the project was launched with encouragement and donations from the Steigers, and it was finished with support from the Libeys. The unveiling led off the awards ceremony during the Art Among the Trees event at The Center Dec. 19.

A crowd turned out Dec. 19 for the Art Among the Trees event at The Center next to the library. Gary and Trudy Libey pulled down the cover over the plaque honoring Don and Bettie Steiger and family and the Libeys for donations which started the project and provided funds to get it finished, respectively.

Librarian Kristie Kirkpatrick passed out recognition certificates to people who assisted with the project.

Winners of the festival of trees competition were presented by Kirkpatrick and Mayor Todd Vanek. Twenty-four decorated trees were entered in the competition this year, and 750 ballots wer...
