Benjamin P. Perkins

A celebration of life service for Benjamin Patrick Perkins, 47, Palouse, will be today, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Palouse High School gymnasium. Mr. Perkins died Dec. 4, 2018, at his home in Palouse.

Born Nov. 17, 1971, in Moscow, Idaho, to Randolph and Patricia (Cammack) Perkins, he attended Palouse schools and graduated with the class of 1990. He was very active in sports and was a member of the undefeated Garfield/ Palouse basketball team which won the state B basketball championship in 1990. Ben later attended Washington State University and received a bachelor's degree in business.

Ben married Rebecca (Becky) Wagner May 12, 1996, in Farmington. They made their home in Palouse, and he started working for Washington State University in June of 2003 and was director of summer and extended academic programs.

He enjoyed camping, boating, riding motorcycles, golf, U.S. History and his favorite rock band, the Scorpions.

Survivors include his wife, Becky; two daughters, Emily Perkins and Abby Perkins, Palouse; his parents, Randy and Patricia Perkins, Garfield; three brothers, Rob Kirsch, McCall, Idaho, Brett Perkins (Colleen) San Diego, Calif., and Joe Perkins (Noel) Indianapolis, Ind .; four sisters, Chrissy Watkins (Brian), Sammamish; Melinda Harrington (David) Melba, Idaho; Kim Kirsch, Pullman, and Leigh Perkins, Nashville, Tenn.

Mass of Christian burial was Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Albert Grasher, Jr. presiding. Burial followed at the Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse. A luncheon followed at the Palouse Federated Church.
