Pomeroy, Colton girls defeat Bulldogs in basketball season start

Dakota Patchen of Colton goes to the hoop against Asher Cai of Colfax late in the Tuesday battle at Colfax. Patchen led all scorers with 19 in the battle which pitched schools that won state titles last year.

Pomeroy and Colton, the two SE teams which collided in the state girls B championship game at the Spokane Arena last March, both defeated a young Colfax team to open the new hoop season at Colfax.

The Pirates crunched Colfax 57-28 in the Friday opener, and Colton departed Colfax Tuesday with a 69-58 win after fighting off a Colfax charge early in the second half.
