Awards rite marks end to Bulldog football season

The Colfax football season, which started with a long road trip to Cathlamet to play Wakiakum on a non-league opener, came to a close Thursday with a revised format for season-end awards.

Between the two dates, Colfax rolled up a 4-5 record, and again finished one win short of a state playoff slot.

Coach Mike Morgan Thursday pointed out four of the teams who defeated Colfax during the season wound up in state playoff action. That included Heppner which landed in the Oregon playoffs. Heppner, the smallest school playing 11-man football in Oregon, defeated Colfax in the home opener here.
