U.S. Bank Foundation grant will help support libraries

Whitman County Library last week announced St. John and Endicott branches have received a $1500 Community Possible Grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation to develop financial education programming for all ages. According to St. John librarian Clancy Pool, “US Bank Colfax Manager Shanna Larson first brought this opportunity to us as a part of a district-wide outreach to improve financial programming in our branches.”

The library is planning to use a variety of resources for programming including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s “Money As You Grow” program for children and 40 new books added to the WCL collection. The grant will also facilitate new programs for teens and young adults at the libraries.

Programs will begin in January.
