Norman A. Bafus

Norman A. Bafus, 89, passed away on November 18, 2018, at Whitman Medical Center in Colfax. He was born on July 20, 1929, to Albert and Jessie (Schierman) Bafus in Lancaster, Wash.

Norman grew up in Lancaster and attended school in St. John where he graduated high school. Following high school, Norman enlisted into the United States Army. After his time in the Army, he moved back to St. John where he married Dixie on December 18, 1953. They welcomed two children together, Bob and Cindy before moving to LaCrosse where they settled their family.

Norman was very active in the community. He loved following his grandchildren to all their events and sporting activities; it helped that they lived close by. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener.

Norman is survived by his two children, Bob (Leanne) Bafus and Cindy (Kim) Pitts, both of LaCrosse, Wash .; his five grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Hammons of Meridan, Idaho, Amanda (Erik) Carlson of Spokane, Wash., Carrie Pitts of Yakima, Wash., Jeff Bafus and Samantha (Jaylen) Pace of Spokane, Wash .; and his five great-grandchildren, Kellen, Beckett, Willa, Rafe and Tate. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie in 2003; a brother, Doug Bafus and by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 23 at 2:00 pm, at the St. John Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Memorial Hospital or to a charity of your choice. On-line condolences may be made at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com.
