Richard Skeate

Richard Lee Skeate passed away on Oct. 7, 2018, at his home with his wife, Pamela, and his dog, Sierra, at his side.

He was born in Colfax on Jan. 8, 1945, to Delbert and Mildred Skeate.

Prior to graduating, Richard carried the Daily Bulletin and also bucked hay for area farmers. Richard also worked at J.C. Penney. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation with the class of 1963, served in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge.

He worked at Lockheed for eight months, then at Con Edison as a meter reader then as an operations analyst until his retirement. He was a member of the Mormon church at Banning Calif.

Richard is survived by his wife, Pamela Susan Skeate; daughter, Jennifer Ringer; son-in-law, Joseph Ringer; son, Brandon Gardner; daughter-in-law, Melissa; grandchildren, Ryan Ringer, Ashley Ringer, Madison Oleszarny and Makayla Oleszarny; brother, Dennis Skeate; sister, Marilyn (Skeate) Closson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene (Skeate) Feistner.

Funeral services for Richard were held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Banning, Calif. A reception followed at Highland Springs Country Club.
