Charles R. Taggart, Sr.

A graveside service with urn burial for Charles R. Taggart, Sr., 85, a resident of Potlatch, was Monday, Oct. 22, at the Potlatch Cemetery with Gail Gearhiser officiating. V.F.W. Potlatch Post 10300 and a United States Air Force honor guard participated.

Mr. Taggart died Oct. 15, 2018, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho.

Born April 27, 1933, at Potlatch, to Joseph and Gertrude Paroz Taggart, he attended Potlatch schools and graduated with the Potlatch High School class of 1952.

He joined the United States Air Force Dec. 5, 1952 and served in Germany. He was discharged on Nov. 21, 1956.

He and Carol Hudson were married June 30, 1956, at Potlatch, and they made their home at Harvard, Idaho, and later at Princeton, Idaho. Mr. Taggard worked as a logger for the Hansen Logging Company for more than 20 years. The couple later moved to Potlatch, where Mr. Taggart operated Taggart Motors and Car Lot for several years. He retired in 1995.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Potlatch Post and the Moscow, Idaho Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and trap shooting.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Taggart, Potlatch; one son, Charles Taggart Jr., Potlatch; one daughter, Cathy Guzman (David), Eagle, Idaho; two brothers, Melvin Taggart, Lewiston, Idaho, and Jack Taggart, Riverside, Calif .; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. http://www.kramercares.com
