NOTICE OF DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE (DNS) AND A PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

Whitman County Planning issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) for the following project:

Whitman County proposes amendments to zoning ordinance Chapter 19.05 – Administration and Enforcement, allowing a designee to issue Rural Housing Certificates, clarifying how a Rural Housing Certificate can be issued and making a few scrivener’s corrections.

After review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with us, the Planning Office has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment.

A public hearing will be held by the Whitman County Planning Commission on November 7, 2018, in the Auditorium, first floor of the Whitman County Public Service Building, at 7:00 PM.

WHEREAS, the Town of LaCrosse has met and considered its budget for the calendar year 2019; and,

WHEREAS, the districts actual levy amount from the previous year was $34,622.20; and, WHERAS, the population of this district is less than 10,000; and now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the taxing district that an increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the levy to be collected in the 2019 tax year.

The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year shall be $ 346.00 which is a percentage increase of 1% from the previous year. This increase is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made.
