First Thursday returns for final '18 hurrah

The last First Thursday event for the season in Colfax will be today with downtown stores open late, vendors on the sidewalks, a beer garden and live music from Sammy Eubanks.

Vendors begin selling at 3 p.m. with the beer garden opening on Spring Street at 5:30 p.m. Eubanks will take the outdoor stage by Washington Federal bank at 6:30 p.m.

The United Methodist Church will offer free root beer floats at the church from 3 to 7 p.m., sponsored by Rosauers.

A “Running is in My Bones” 5K or 4-mile relay will start at 6:25 p.m. Entry fees are $100 per team or $35 per individual, including a T-shirt and drink coupon for beer, wine or chocolate milk. The event is a fundraiser for the Colfax Public Pool.

Colfax’s First Thursday events are put on by the Colfax Chamber of Commerce and the Colfax Downtown Association.

As part of the festivities, Colfax Library will offer 3D printing demonstrations and expanded book sales. The Pullman League of Women Voters will be on site to register voters from 3 to 6 p.m., while tech librarians demonstrate the library’s new 3D printer and share information about upcoming classes. Friends of the Library will hold an expanded book sale inside and outside the library all day long.

Eubanks is a well-known act in the Inland Northwest, playing music on the border of country and blues.
