Mary Phyllis Allan, 85, of Colfax, passed away July 12, 2018, at the Whitman Health and Rehab Center in Colfax, Wash.

Mary was born July 31, 1932, in Steptoe, Wash. to Ernest & Mary Ellen (Linn) Roberts. She grew up and attended school in Steptoe, spending summers in Dusty on the Schultz family farm. Mary played basketball while in school and graduated from Steptoe High School. She married George W. Hall and together they made their home in Steptoe. After their divorce, Mary moved to Spokane and received her insurance license. She made Spokane her home and worked for several years in the insurance industry. Mary married Gene Allan in 1977 and they made Palouse, Wash. their home until moving to the Colfax area.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother her entire life, taking special care of her own mother through the years, as well as raising three of her grandchildren Tara, Jason & Randy. She also worked as a caregiver for a number of years in the Palouse area. Mary enjoyed horses, hunting and being outdoors. She was a devoted member of the Assembly of God Church throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Stan (Sandra) Hall of Colfax; five grandchildren & four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ernest & Mary Ellen Roberts; she was preceded in death by her husband Gene; son, Randy Hall in 2015; and a brother, Jack Roberts.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, July 19 from 9 am to 4 pm at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. A graveside service will take place at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe on Friday, July 20 at 11 am. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to the Bethel Cemetery or a favorite charity.
