Rebecca Lynn Novak

Rebecca Lynn Novak, 55, long-time Colfax resident, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane. A celebration of her life will be July 21 at 3 p.m. at the Colfax Eagles, Born Feb. 4, 1963, in Spokane to John and Lena Slinkard Novak, she attended schools in Colfax before pursuing a GED degree. She moved to Colorado and worked as a ranch cook before moving to Steptoe where she worked as a cook at the Wheel Inn. She later moved to Colfax. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was a member of the Eagles. Surviving are her long-time companion, John Birr; two sons, Jason and Jacob Novak; her father, John Novak, St. John; brothers John Novak of Tekoa and Michael Novak of St. John; sister, Deborah Meyer, Beatrice, Neb., and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials donations go to the GoFundMe account in her name.
