Betty Yvonne (Bartleson) Jordan

Oct. 11, 1934 – July 7, 2018

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty Yvonne (Bartleson) Jordan, (83), long-time Winona-area resident, went to be with her Lord on July 7, 2018. Friends may pay their respects at Bruning Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Betty was born on October 24, 1934, in Colfax, Wash. to Richard and Loey (Walker) Bartleson. Sometime in her first year, her family moved near Kellogg, Idaho, where her father began working in a silver mine. Just before Betty started second grade, her family moved to Western Washington. She graduated from Federal Way High School in 1953. That same summer, on June 12th, she married Virgil Jordan. (They had gotten to know each other in the summers of 1951 and 1952 when Betty stayed at her Uncle Ralph Walker's farm where Virgil was working.) They made their home in the Winona area. Betty had four daughters and was a "stay-at-home" mom for the most part. She worked for Beeline, Beauty for All Seasons and the Colfax Grange Supply for a time, but she was best known for her talent of sewing. She made or altered many items of clothing for many people over the years. She also taught piano lessons from her home. Betty enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, singing and playing the piano. She knitted, crocheted and did needlepoint. She was an avid reader. The Bible was her favorite book. Jesus was her beloved Savior and friend. All of her family was precious to her, too. Betty is survived by her four daughters and their spouses, Teri (Alan) Hurley of Mulkiteo, Wash., Sherry (Bill) Dunham of Bath, Mich., Amy (Eric) Warren of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Kelly (Jeff) Moys of Brush Prairie, Wash .; nine grandchildren and their spouses; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ramona Crutchfield; and two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Gough and Caryl Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her parents, and her sister, Linda Bartleson. Memorial contributions in Betty's honor may be given to Endicott Bible Church or First Baptist Church in Colfax. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com.
