Insulating city meters

Colfax city crew members Jeff Batterton, left, and Chris Clark Dec. 14 use household fiberglass insulation to pack tightly around a city meter housing to ward off freezing. Earlier this fall they installed approximately 60 styrofoam covers on meters. Last Thursday’s work was done at locations in which the styrofoam covers wouldn’t fit such as this dual meter near the intersection of Wall and Main streets.
