Junior rodeo at Colfax Saturday could bring up to 200 wranglers

The 42nd annual Colfax Junior Rodeo will be Saturday and Sunday at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds.

Running from 10 a.m. to an estimated 4 p.m. both days, the event will feature competitors 18 and younger riding and roping on the Eastern Washington Junior Rodeo Association circuit. A total of 160-200 competitors are expected.

Cost is free for spectators with concessions provided by LaCrosse Café.

A Colfax rodeo fundraiser barrel race will be Saturday at 7 p.m., with pro and amateur riders paying $25-$40 entry fees to run for a shot at a $250-$500 prize.
