Obituaries June 8

James H. (Jim) Berry, 75, Pullman, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He will be cremated and, there will be no public service. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is caring for the family.

Born Oct. 9, 1941, to Robert and Pearl Waller Berry in Lancaster, Calif., he moved with his family to Pullman and graduated from Pullman High School in 1959. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in July of 1962. He married Mary Lou Ledeman in April of 1963, and they made their home in Pullman where he worked for the Pullman Grange Supply and later owned and operated the Arco Gas Station.

His first marriage ended in divorce, and he married Anna Arlene Harting July 7, 1973, in San Diego, Calif. They lived in various places around the Northwest, and he worked for more than 20 years for SafetyKleen Corporation, an industrial waste management company. He retired in 2011 and has spent the last several years in Pullman. He was an avid golfer, a Cougar fan and a member of the Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his children and step-children; Laurie Berry, Columbia Falls, Mont .; Debbie Yates, Colfax; Theresa Collier, Peabody, Ma., and Jodi Wernecke, Pullman; a brother, Robert Berry, Spirit Lake, Idaho; a sister, Maxine Baldwin, Bartlesville, Okla .; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, and a son, James Reed Berry.
