Tekoa watch project starts

Tekoa's neighborhood watch program is underway, beginning the first week of April.

Enough volunteers have been secured to patrol the whole city, acting on an unofficial schedule.

Organizers have divided the city into sections with one of eight leaders assigned to it.

Watch participants have already made reports to the county sheriff, one of which was a domestic situation observed on the side of the highway.

The group has made available simple paper signs now seen in windows around the city: “Neighbors Watch.” On the back is the non-emergency phone number for the county sheriff.
