Garfield to seek same levy

 


The Town of Garfield will again run its traditional streets levy for 2017 at the same total it passed at last year – $62,000.

The town council approved the amount in its April 12 meeting, to go before voters in August.

“We call it a street levy, but it helps pay for streetlights and snow removal,” said Mayor Ray McCown. “It just takes that much to complete our budget.”

The town proposed a $10,000 levy, intended specifically for repairs on Spokane Street, which failed.
