Trial date set in arson case

A June 12 trial date has been set for the three suspects in the Tekoa arson case. Diane Galler, 51, Spokane Valley; Darien Rhoads, 21, Spokane, and Raymond Rhoads III, Spangle, all pleaded not guilty to the charge of first degree arson in superior court Friday.

The state case alleges Galler decided to burn down her unoccupied house on Truax Street to collect the insurance. She allegedly recruited the Rhoads duo to torch her house with the use of gasoline Sept. 18 of last year. The charges were filed after Spokane officers began to receive tips that the fire had been set.
