Dahmen Barn to mark 10th anniversary

Dahmen Barn, surrounded by its iconic steel wheel fence, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with a dedication ceremony of the Loafing Shed expansion project.

The 10th anniversary of Dahmen Barn will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and tastings of locally crafted wine, beer and cider and a dollar auction.

Board members and resident artists are also contributing gift baskets for a silent auction. Seating is limited, and the cost of a ticket is $15.

Sunday, Oct. 9, an open house will be from noon to 3 p.m.

Uniontown Community Development Association, owner of the property and coordinator of the Loafing Shed expansion project, will dedicate the shed at 1 p.m.

The dedication will acknowledge the funders, designers, builders, suppliers and community volunteers who made the project happen. The expansion created three new artist studios, one of which offers ceramics classes for children and adults, and commercial kitchen for the new culinary arts program.
