Helen Jane Hughes gets Endicott sendoff

Endicott

Twenty women last Wednesday met at the Endicott Food Center to wish Helen Jane Hughes the best in her journey to her new home in Pullman. She received a money and card basket as a gift.

She has lived in the area for many years and will be missed. She has been active in Relay for Life - Endicott Team, Endicott Community Club, Elizabeth Circle, Winona School Reunions and the Whitman Hospital Auxiliary.

A benefit spaghetti feed for Endicott local Leslie Starrett will be Saturday, May 14, at 6 p.m. at the Endicott Food Center.

Endicott Community Club is busy getting ready for the flea market May 21. It will start at 8 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. Watch for advertisements in next week's Gazette, on Facebook and on Cable TV.

Diane Repp was at the club's May meeting and discussed an all-year Endicott High School reunion that will be during the German Dinner and Silent Auction Nov. 6.

Spring Clean Up in Endicott was held this past Saturday with help from the junior high and trucks supplied by McGregor Co. and Ramon Huntley.

Jerine Grey and Louise Owen joined 150 folks in Leavenworth to celebrate and learn more about the journeys our ancestors made from Germany to Russia and then to America. They had the opportunity to see and visit with many friends. Dick Scheuerman played a major part in planning and presenting this event.
