Marvin A. Brander, 65, a resident at the Tekoa Care Center for the past two weeks, died Oct. 12, 2014, from heart disease. He was cremated.

Born Oct. 1, 1949, at Sioux Falls, S.D., to Sylvin and Evelyn (Bakkene) Brander, he moved with his family to California and he attended schools there. Mr. Brander worked several years as a safety inspector for the railroad. He had been married and divorced. He moved to Washington 17 years ago and made his home in the Spokane area.

He enjoyed restoring Chevy Corvairs and building three-wheeled motorcycles.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Copenhaver of Canyon Country, Calif., two grandchildren, and a longtime friend and caregiver, Rosario Felice.
