Colton High baseball picks up for 2014 season

Practice began and attendance was full with three players.

That’s how the Colton High School 2014 baseball season began, as the rest of the team was in the midst of a quest to win the state 1B basketball championship.

"We got a lot of swings with those three guys," said seventh-year Colton coach Pat Doumit. "Played a lot of catch with the same three guys."

Once the rest of the team returned from Spokane with the coveted gold-ball trophy, they picked up their mitts and came out for baseball.
