A potluck dinner will follow the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at the Country Bible Church on Sept. 29. Steve Szasz and his wife Darla will be presented as the candidate for the pastorate of Country Bible. Voting will follow an informal question and answer session. Steve Szasz has filled the pulpit for the last year following the retirement of Pastor Floyd Overstreet. All people who attend Country Bible are encouraged to join.

Attending the funeral of their cousin Lois Ottmar Strohmaier, were David and Phyllis Stueckle, Lorraine Scaggs and Dale and Vicki Broeckel. Services were in Lind Saturday.

Kim and Cindy Pitts spent the weekend in Yakima helping their daughter Carrie celebrate her birthday.

Guests of Karen Broeckel Friday and Saturday were former schoolmates Patty Schierman Brady, Sedro Woolley, and Carmi Cummings Thompson, Mount Vernon. They were all treated to dinner at the GrillBilly Cafe in LaCrosse Friday evening by Brady’s brother, Butch Schierman, Tacoma, and Red Martin, Spokane. They attended graveside services for Mike Wise in LaCrosse Saturday.
