Colfax volleyball nips Scotties in five games

Colfax and Freeman Hish Schol volleyball teams battled through a five -game endurance ran Tuesday night at the home opener in Colfax with the Bulldogs takinig the fifth game decider 15-11.

Colfax took the first two games with close wins of 25-20 and 25-21, but Freeman bounced back with a close 25-23 and 25-19 to put the match at 2-2 and send it into the fifth game.

Nicole Sheer hit 21 kills for Colfax and Kori Goodwin booked 52 assists in the first shift as setter for the Bulldogs.

Tayler Larsen hit four aces to energize Colfax in the decider game. She finished with eight for the match.

Colfax hosted the non-leaguer after taking short match wins Saturday at the jamboree in the Colfax gym. The Bulldogs defeated St. John/Endicott in the first round and Pullman in the second round of action.

Colfax today will travel north the Shadle Park to play the Highlanders. The match will be one of the rare times when the Bulldogs will go up against a GSL team.

COLTON Beats Asotin

defeated the Asotin Panthers Tuesday at Asotin with a 3-1 game win. The two clubs split the first two game and then the Wildcats took the match with wins in the last two.

Line score of the class were 25-22 20-25 25-22 25-17.

Winnie Schultheis put up 26 assists for the Wildccats and Jackie Warner had 12 digs off kthe back lane.

Jenna and Zoe Moser combined for 28 kills.

defeated Rosalia in a five-game battle with a 15-13 squeaker in the deciding game. The T-cats took the first two games, 25-15 and 25-21, but the Spartans bounced back 25-20 and 25-21 to set the scene for the close final battle.
