Endicott’s Fourth brings large crowd

Endicott

The Fourth of July in Endicott by the end of the evening brought hundreds of people for the fireworks. The planning part of the Fourth was done by the Endicott Community Club with Gail Bilow being the head of the committee. The execution of the plan was done by Gail and Dave Bilow, Endicott Community Club, Endicott Park and Rec and many community people who helped set up, run events and clean up.

The Fourth started off with the Park and Rec’s food stand opening, games and dunk tank. The dunk tank was the hit of the day because of the warm weather. The games brought a crowd of young people who participated and won lots of prizes. The Kiddie Parade featured decorated bikes, scooters and children wearing all kinds of Fourth of July paraphernalia.

The face painting table was busy all day.

The Community Club pie booth was very busy with all kinds of pie for sale, the most popular being “Snickers Pie” made by Sue Bafus. The Ice Cream Social had a long line of people to get their tasty snack.

Thorne Creek Express, a band of four brothers from near Genesee, played a mix of Old Time Country, Swing and Blue Grass music, and Farmer Dave, a western singer and songwriter, played in front of a growing crowd.

Doug Carlson played the Star Spangled Banner on his trumpet as an intro to the fireworks. At dusk Tony Anderson and his crew started the show which ended with a huge explosion of color and sound.

Pat Goss, Post Falls; Gary Elliott, Duluth, Ga .; Richard and Amy Vollmer, Las Vegas; Heather Bafus. K.C. and Colby Nootenboom, Spokane Valley, visited at the home of Sue Bafus over July Fourth.
