Colfax tracksters collect wins

Colfax Bulldogs posted a strong showing in the NE league meet at Mt. Spokane Tuesday. Coach Jason Cooper noted the Bulldogs qualified in all relay events and are expected to send 25 competitors to the regional qualifier next week at Riverside.

The top eight finishers in the lane events qualified for the regional along with the top 12 in the two distance races and the field events.

Scout Cai was back in action for the Bulldogs with a 9-0 win in the pole vault to set a meet record. The Buldogs also had Morgan Lord and Cacey Hall clearing 7-6 in the vault for third and fourth places.

Scout Cai also won the high jump with a 5-0.

The Colfax girls relay team again took a double win with a 52.1 in the 4 X 100 and a 1:49.6 in the 4 x 200. The crew included Ameilie Bruya, Nicole Sheer, Leah Heiner, and Bailey Mackleit,

Mackleit also set a meet record with another win in the 300 hurdles. She was clocked at 49.4. She placed second in the 100 hurdles at 17.4.

Taylor Cai placed second in the discus at 106-4, and Olivia Mellor marked a personal record in the triple jump at 31-9 for second place. She also placed third in the long jump at 15-2.

Sheer booked another in in the shot put at 34-9, and Taylor Cair placed second at 32-2.

Colfax boys had a big finish in the 400 with Austin Corean and Justin Aucutt placing 1-2 with times of 52.6 and 52.8. Corean aso took the 100 with an 11.71.

Skylar Simonson won the high jump with a leap of 5-8.

The 4 X 100 relay team also took a win with a 45.14 with Bo Classen, Aucutt, Cody Fulfs, and Corean in the entry.

Fulfs had the top mark in the 2B triple jump at 37-9 and he placed eighth in the long jump at 18-3.

Josh Brown had another win in the discus at 125-0.
