Crawdads set for fall baseball

Colfax Crawdads will open their second season of fall baseball Saturday at McDonald Park at 8 a.m. They will play sets of double bills with the balance of the games starting at 11 a.m. Other dates are Sept. 15, Sept. 22 and Sept. 25, according to Coach Brian Jacobs.

A playoff round will begin Oct. 13 in Spokane with the top eight of the 14 teams qualifying.

The fall baseball follows the Senior Babe Ruth format. Nine teams in the league are from Spokane with other clubs from Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Moscow/Pullman.

The Colfax team includes eight players from Colfax, and one each from Garfield/ Palouse, Pullman and Moscow.

Jim Van Lith of St. John is assisting Jacobs with coaching this year’s baseball squad.
