Red Hat ladies roll to Ritzville

Nita Polda June 20 hosted a group of 14 Sprague-Lamont Red Hat Ladies on a trip to Ritzville. They had lunch at the Cow Creek Mercantile and toured the Frank R. Burroughs house. Making the trip were Mary Anderson, Bea Butler, Diane Cook, Anita Frederick, Marcia Landers, Jean Meyers, Shirley Miller, Nita Polda, Pat Peterson, Mary Ruud, Claudette Sharp, Kathy Sheilds, Betty Stone and Nita Vold.

Before returning home, Betty, Pat and Kathy visited Evelyn Sheilds at the Ritzville nursing home. Bonnie Swannack was also visiting Evelyn.

Saturday, Bill, Stella and Dean Melville and Kathy Sheilds attended a memorial service for Dan Tallefson at Bunkers Resort on Williams Lake. Dan was the husband of Amy Jo (Melville) Soay-Tallefson and a Cheney high school classmate of Amy Jo and Kathy.

On Friday evening Don and Sherrill Nelson attended granddaughter Kylie Nelson’s summer league basketball game at the Spokane warehouse. Saturday they attended the senior piano recital of Jim Kelly’s grandson Kevin Kelly in the Spokane Valley. Kevin, a graduate from East Valley High School, will attend EWU in September. Kevin is the grand-nephew of Don and Sherrill Nelson.

Friday Betty Stone along with her grandson Brett Behrens and her daughter Patty Ethredge attended the Civic Theatre childrens workshop play “The Wizard of Oz.” Seven year old Kylie Ethredge was the Tin Woodsman.

Don’t forget to make reservations for the Lamont alumni and friends dinner Saturday June 30 at the Lamont Community building at noon.
