Car show, stock show, Bloomsday on agenda

 


Hooper

Conly and Betty Merritt traveled to Yakima April 27-29 to visit with Betty’s cousin, Max and Karen Swift of Eatonville. They all attended the vintage car show at the Agricultural Museum in Union Gap where Max had a car entered.

Bill and Della Evans traveled to Spokane Friday. They visited the Spokane Junior Livestock Show at the fairgrounds and watched grandson Cole Evans and other locals show their steers.

That evening they attended the Ag Forestry program graduation dinner. Grandson Jared Webley was among those honored at the end of the two- year program.

Jessica McGregor and daughter Scarlett were also in Spokane for the weekend. They met Jessica’s mom Alicia Cramer of Winnemucca, and sister Micalya Cramer of Lewiston. They all participated in the Bloomsday Run on Sunday morning. Alicia then returned to Hooper for Sunday night before leaving Monday morning for her home.

Caleb and Lane Hannas attended Spokane Jr. Livestock Show last week. Caleb’s steer placed as the Reserve Champion FFA Market Steer and Caleb also placed Reserve Champion FFA in Fitting and Showing. Both of Lane’s steers made the finals in FFA Market classes, as well as Lane placing in the finals in the FFA Fitting and Showing.

Lane and Caleb also competed on the LaCrosse FFA meats and Livestock judging teams, and placed fifth in both competitions. Lane won the market beef portion of the State FFA Livestock Judging Competition.
