Swannack attends sheep meeting

Lamont

Art Swannack traveled to Denver last Thursday for the spring American Sheep Industry (ASI) board meeting. This is the meeting when all the national council and committee assignments are decided upon. Art was appointed chair of the Resource Management Council, which oversees natural resource, predator and public lands issues for ASI. Art was elected in January to a second term as Region 8 director (WA, OR, CA and HI) and looks forward to another year serving sheep producers. He returned home Friday evening.

Saturday, Allen and Diane Cook drove to the Ritzville gun club to watch grandson, Logan Miller of Kahlotus, shoot. Following the trap shoot, the Cooks and Miller family met for lunch at Perkins.

A group of 14 from the Lamont Community Church, enjoyed pizza and bowling at Cheney Bowl Sunday afternoon. Those in the group were Art and Jill Swannack, Carmen, Leah, Owen, Thomas and Magel; Rosie Melville, Dave and Ginny Rajala, Earl Swift, Craig and Sue Swanson and Diane Cook. Included in this group were the young people in the Lamont Junior Church. They are busy now preparing a program for Easter.

To celebrate their 64th anniversary, Dan and Jean Stromberger March 2 were treated to dinner at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Spokane. Present were Janet and Bill, Tim and Arlene and Tom Stromberger. Since March 3 was Tom’s birthday, he was also honored.

Guests at the home of Diane and Allen Cook last weekend were Rob and Ashley Sweigert and little Rob, from Puyallup. Sunday, they drove to Kahlotus to see Sandi and Dennis Miller and children and celebrate the birthday of Dennis Miller.
