Egg hunt set at Oakesdale

Oakesdale Park and Rec will host their annual Easter egg hunt Saturday April 3 at 10 a.m. at the Oakesdale Park for children 12 and under.

The Oakesdale School District will conduct childfind screening for all children birth through five years Friday April 23, 2010. The screening checks hearing, vision, speech and language, motor and cognitive development. Please contact Brenda McFarling at the school, extension 126, to arrange a time.

Seniors Drake Hinkins and Katie Graffis were crowned Prom King and Queen at the Whitman County Prom Saturday evening which was held at Fairchild Airforce Base.

Mr. and Mrs. Crockett, representing the Whitman County VFW, presented students with awards they had earned for their Veterans of Foreign Wars essays. There were three winners from each class plus Logan Reed and Anne Hockett also won District awards. Class winners were Anne Hockett, Aliya Rutledge, Logan Reed, Kameron Dewan, Zach Dabolt, Danielle Young, Tanner Dingman, Lindsey Lindgren, Willie Whalon, Ashlie Chappell, Hayley Adams, Tabitha Johnson, Brianna Larsen and LJ Peringer.

Bridge Club was recently hosted by Nina Gregory at the Oakesdale museum. Winning high prize was Donna Fisher, 2nd high June Crow, Traveling Wanda Brown, and Bingo Marvel Ebert. June Hyden will host it next on April 1.
