Retired teachers support drive

Don Kackman and Alice Davis, treasurer and president of Whitman County School Retirees Association, are pictured here with Rhonda Kromm, advisor for the Builders Club at Lincoln Middle School in Pullman. The retirees have purchased “Three Cups of Tea” books and donated $100 for Kromm and the club to use in their Pennies For Peace drive. The club’s project this month has been to collect pennies for schools and children in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Every year the retirees offer grants to active teachers who support the organization with their dues.
