Oakesdale music students perform African concert

Oakesdale music department gave an African concert at the school Tuesday night. The music students have been learning about African music and learning to play the instruments during the past month.

Bridge Club was held recently at the home of Wanda Brown. Winning high prize was June Crow, 2nd High Marvel Ebert, Traveling Darlene Rickett and Bingo Patty Johnson. June Crow will host it on Feb. 4 at her home.

The Nighthawk cheerleaders will conduct a mini-hawk camp this week and the little kids will perform at the basketball game Saturday, Feb. 6, in Tekoa.

Senior Night honoring all senior basketball players and cheerleaders will be at the last home basketball game scheduled for Feb. 13 at Oakesdale against Pomeroy.

Oakesdale Library will host an Occupational Resource Connection class Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. This class is offered as an outreach to local residents currently seeking employment or anyone looking for some tips on job search skills. The class will cover both computer basics and job search tools. “I am happy to be able to offer it here in Oakesdale,” said librarian Michele Wright.

Storytime continues each Wednesdays at 12:30 here at the Oakesdale Library.

Oakesdale Library will be closed Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of Presidents Day.
