Taylor, Urban Coyotes set for Dahmen Barn

Australian cowboy poet Milton Taylor and the Urban Coyote Bush Band will perform at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m. Admission for all ages will be $7 at the door.

Taylor was born in outback Queensland and spent most of his life as a sheep shearer. In the itinerant shearing camps of the time, men created their own entertainment—storytelling and poetry; and Taylor discovered he had an affinity for the spoken word. He has won the Australian National bush poetry performing championship several times and has been the official representative from Australia to U.S. National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, four times.

Urban Coyote Bush Band was founded in 1982 and since then has introduced audiences throughout the Northwest to Australian musical folk traditions. They sing the rousing old-time songs from Down Under featuring ballads of sheep shearers, drovers, swagmen, and the Outback itself. The group includes Jim Roberts, Dick Warwick, Paul Tapp and Ken Raymond.
