Job search workshops set at branch libraries

Whitman County Library’s Occupational Resource Connection (WORC) will present a series of job search workshops at branches around the county. The program will provide job seekers the resources they need to conduct a successful job search or explore career changes. Workshops and additional computer access time are currently being scheduled throughout Whitman County.

The first series, called “Computer Basics and your Job Search” will teach participants how to best utilize computers. Presenters will review the basics of the job search process, assist with cover letters and resumes, teach the set up and use of email and also, how to store documents online. High-speed Internet computers will be available for all participants and each will receive a free planner to stay organized in the job search process.

Initial workshops are scheduled in Albion Tuesday, January 19 from 1:30-3:30, in Tekoa Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 11:30-1:30 and in Rosalia Thursday, Jan 20 from 1-3:00 p.m.

WORC programs are made possible through a grant from the Office of the Secretary of State, Washington State Library as a part of the Renew Washington Project, which is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

All WORC programs are free but space is limited. Anyone interested in participating should register by calling Andree` Marcus or Erica Willson at 877-733-3375 or emailing worc@whitco.lib. wa.us
