Whitten adds to appeal

Roger Whitten of Oakesdale, Dec. 7, filed additional exhibit material for his superior court appeal of the “non-significant impact” finding by the Whitman County planner. The finding was in relation to the county’s now-passed ordinance governing installation of commercial wind towers.

Whitten also filed notice with the court that the amendments to the ordinance does not alter his appeal.

The planner’s ruling meant the ordinance, then in the draft stage, did not have to undergo an environment impact review under the State Environment Protect Act. Whitten has submitted articles and reports to support his contention that the then-proposed law should have undergone an environmental impact review.

A hearing date on the appeal petition, one of two filed with the court, has not been set.
