Tapestry choir slates concerts at Colfax, Moscow

Tapestry Women’s choir will perform their Christmas concert at First Presbyterian Church in Moscow, Friday, Dec. 4, and at United Methodist Church in Colfax, Monday, Dec. 7. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Directed by Dale Forrey of Colfax, the choir started their Christmas concert series with a performance Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church in Pullman.

This will be the 11th year for the concerts by Tapestry which now includes 23 members. Theme for this year’s concert is Magnificat, or Mary’s Song which is the theme of selections in the first half of the concert. Linda Liou and Jackie Miyasaka will provide the four-hand piano accompaniment for Magnificat.

Proceeds from the $5 admission goes to cover expenses of the group.

Also, for the first time this year, Tapestry will offer a CD recording of their concert last year. The recording was made at two of their 2008 concerts. It includes selections by Gwyneth Walker, who came from Vermont last year to hear the debut of one of her pieces which was written for Tapestry.
