Former Gazette reporter's book details his rescue saga

Fomrer Gazette reporter Brian Gawley has written a book about how he survived being lost in the Olympic Natonal Park four years ago while making a “psycho hike.” Gawley was lost for over 65 hours in the Appleton Pass area about 15 miles southwest of Port Angeles.

At that time, Gawley was a reporter for the Peninsula Daily News in Port Angeles. He is now employed at the Sequim Gazette but still makes his home in Port Angeles.

Gawley was employed at the Gazette in Colfax from November of 1989 until February of 1993.
