Rosalia honors veterans

Rosalia High School will conduct a Mr. RHS competition Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. Contestants, left to right, top row: are Jared Hereford, Casey Brown, Quinn Lautenslager, Nicholas Doneen, and Gage Merritt. Bottom row, Jim Maley, John Kuhn, Zach St. John, Payton Boxleitner, and Ben Hale. Not pictured are Scott Eberle, Flash Hodges, and Caleb Campbell. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 students, and free for kids 10 and under.

A ceremony in observance of Veterans’ Day was last Wednesday morning in Rosalia behind the Texaco Station. Approximately 80 spectators braved weather conditions to see the observance.

Dr. James Sharp was emcee, and Sgt. 1st Class Allen Ashworth of Spokane was guest speaker.

Rosalia Boy Scouts in the color guard were Casey, Cory, DJ and Jason Brown, Thomas Carrothes, Hunter Fulton, Jared Hereford, Nathan Richards and Flash Hodges. Scout leaders were Brad Hodges and Patrick Brown.

VFW Veteran Riflemen were William Hofmann, John Lehone, Moh Millspaucyh and Keneth Hames. Ty Mundt played the trumpet.

Kim Mills directed the elementary choir which included Kennedy Pittsley, Eddie Fricke, Logan Dempsey, Jillian Bruce, Daphne Jacobs, Callie Jeske, and Sydney VanDyke.

A Cowboy Christmas in the Country will be at the Rosalia Performing Arts Center in Rosalia Dec. 5. Holiday Music and Cowboy Poetry will begin at 6 p.m. Special guest will be Dick Warwick and friends. After the concert there will be an open music jam at 7:30 p.m. Donations are encouraged and will benefit the new roof

Holiday activities and craft sale will go on throughout the day at Rosalia.
