    Lamont Several local bird hunters had the hunt of a lifetime last week when they set out before daylight to set up their blinds. They were hunting on burnt winter wheat land. Krista has just started a job with the Young Life organization and is an area associate for the Lake Washington Community.     Lamont Last week, a guy wire broke in Herman Harder’s pasture south of Lamont, flew over the hot wire and dropped it to the ground. The wire hit a two year old heifer, killing her and setting a small fire in the pasture. Fire trucks from Spencer’s farm, Adam’s County No. 4 and Lamont responded to put the fire out. Avista came to restore power to the area. Two ladies in the Lamont area went on a Shop Hop last Friday and Saturday.     Lamont Allen and Diane Cook attended the annual Garden Springs reunion and potluck, Saturday, at the home of Ken and Ruth Potter of the Windsor area. Approximately 25 people, most of whom had attended the Garden School, attended. One graduated from the eighth grade in 1936. The school opened in 1889. It sits on a four-acre parcel of ground southwest of Finch Arboretum and the intersection of Interstate 90 and Highway 2.     Lamont Earl Swift left June 24 with Roger and Sunny Swift and Clay Roy for a fishing trip out of Prince Rupert, B.C. The group didn’t catch as many fish, but Earl caught the last and biggest, a 40 pound salmon. Earl reported they encountered cold weather and conditions one day that were too rough to fish. Normally they were out for 12 hours per day. They came home via a more scenic route through high mountains. The group arrived home July 2.
