    Veterans Steve Ashworth, Bryant Smick and Louis White (at right) were among those who attended the Veterans’ Day ceremony at the St. John Museum. Smick, a World War II pilot who became a prisoner in Germany, was a special guest for the observance.     Lindsay Webber, Colfax High School graduate who is now a sophomore at Baylor University, won first place honors in a regional National Association of Teachers of Singing auditions for Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. To qualify for the competition, she first had to audition at Baylor for one of the limited slots to the regional competition.     Whitman County commissioners Monday adopted a budget for Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Center. Rates for next year will be the same, $155 per bed per day. For non members, the rate increased from $185 per bed per day to $200 per bed per day.
