Editor’s Note: The following column was originally published in 2009. Experts say that in order to get a true picture of your body weight, you shouldn’t weigh yourself every day, which is why I step on the scales only after I’ve had food poisoning. Also, this is the time of year when you should set the starting weight on the scales back 10 pounds — “fall back.” “Dad, you’re gaining weight,” my daughter tells me one day. My daughter loves me and would say something like this only if she were mistaken. “Shut up,” I say gratefully. She is a seriou...

    Karen Kiessling|Sep 11, 2014

However, our representative in Congress, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, when she was asked about it at multiple town halls in her district, would not fully support protecting the right to vote. The Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965 to stop state and local governments from passing laws or policies that deny American citizens the equal right to vote based on their race.... Full story

The Leadership, which includes our Congresswoman, knows that the bill would pass with bi-partisan support. The irony of the situation is obvious. The Republican Representatives can’t do their job but can take the time and spe...
