    Our beloved Mother, Marguerite R. McInerny, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2021, at 101 years of age. We count our blessings as her daughters that we had the support and unconditional love of "Mother" or "Mama" (as we called her) throughout many years of our lives. In reflecting on our mother, we remember her as a very pretty lady that was always concerned about her appearance right up to the end of her life.     Delbert was mercifully released from his pain as he crossed the Great Divide at 10:46 PM on July 31. He battled congestive heart failure for six years and fought hard until the end. On a marginal wheat farm between Winona and Revere in Southwest Whitman County, Delbert was born the sixth of seven siblings – born to Charles R. Gregory and Pearl Johnson Gregory on June 10, 1923.     Jennings Bruce Watts III of Pullman, age 61, passed away August 3, 2021, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho. Jennings was born July 27, 1960, in Atwater, California, to Jennings and ShirLee (Haines) Watts. The family moved to Colfax, Washington where he grew up and attended school. Following his high school graduation from Colfax High, Jennings entered the United States Navy, serving four years until his honorable discharge in 1985.     Agnes Lee Veltri (McConnell) 83, passed away on July 21, 2021, in Spokane at Deaconess Hospital. She was born in St. John, Wash., on January 8, 1938, to Ralph and Roberta McConnell. While growing up in St. John Agnes attended elementary and middle school and graduated from St. John High School in 1956. After school she held numerous jobs, she worked waiting tables at local restaurants. Agnes then began working at her father's implement dealership McConnell Machinery as a bookkeeper.     Lee was born May 18, 1939, in the family home in rural Caulfield, Miss., to Clifford and Geneva (Williams) Scherff. Lee weighed in at 4 pounds and for weeks a shoebox was his bed. He was the oldest of three brothers. The family moved to rural Aurora, Nebraska, in 1946, where they farmed. Lee graduated from Badger country school, and in 1957 he graduated from Aurora High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. As a teenager, she enjoyed riding her black horse, Char. At age 13, she rode Char every day that year to a little knoll behind the house. She was the wife of the late pastor Earl Mortlock of the Country Bible Church 1965 - 1967. They had ten children, 26 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.     COLFAX - The Perkins House aims for Phase Three of renovations to the 1886 structure. The organization is seeking $30,000 to create two drain fields to pull water away from the foundation of the house. Phase Three work is planned to take place next summer.
