All 14 branches of the Whitman County Library will close Aug. 2-8 for maintenance and cleaning. “This annual closure allows the library to complete tasks that can’t happen when our buildings are open,” Library Director Kristie Kirkpatrick said. Belmont Visitors at the Robert Miller’s home Monday through Wednesday were Karla Sigrist and her two youngest sons, Joel and Jesse, Renton. Kiah Miller, Colfax, her parents, Kent and Diane Miller, joined them Monday evening and all of them enjoyed eating out that evening in Pullman. MIKE AND DARCY COCHRAN Darcy Brenner, daughter of Wally and Cindy Brenner, Pomeroy, and Mike Cochran, son of Vicky Cochran, Larry and Sandi Cochran, Colfax, were married in an evening ceremony June 5, 2010, at the home of the bride’s parents in Pomeroy. The Rev. Frank Musgrave officiated beneath a white lattice trellis built by the brides’ father. Approximately 70 family members and friends gathered at the Rosalia Park July 18 to honor Gerald and Linda Campbell on their 50th anniversary. The Campbells have lived in the Rosalia-Malden-Pine City area for close to 30 years. Rosalia’s restored Texaco Station has become a favorite photo stop for recreational motorists in the area. A group of Spokane motorcycle riders made a station stop. Eighty children and adults attended the last summer reading program at the St. John Library. This year they library set new records with a total attendance of 422 at the six programs. Seventy-nine children who read 10 hours or 10 books received a bag full of prizes and their choice of books to take home for their personal library.
