    PULLMAN – A Lewiston man is facing five charges after allegedly breaking into vehicles at Pullman Building Supply earlier this year and taking items including tools, electronics and credit cards. According to the affidavit of probably cause, police responded Feb. 3 to a report several work trucks at Pullman Building Supply had been rummaged through over the weekend.     PULLMAN – A man arrested in Pullman after allegedly attacking an officer who was giving him a ticket for littering has pled guilty to assault. Brad Rost, 26, Lewiston, was booked unto Whitman County Jail June 7. According to the police report, Pullman Officer Breauna Banks saw Rost throw a fountain drink at a moving car on Grand Ave. Officer Banks turned around in her police car and saw Rost throw a fast food bag and wrapper into the street.     STEPTOE – A man who hit speeds of 150 miles per hour on a motorcycle and allegedly admitting to drug use entered a guilty plea for eluding. Zannan Cameron, 24, was booked into Whitman County Jail May 9. According to the arrest report, Deputy Tim Cox of the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office observed a motorcycle traveling southbound on SR 195 near mile post 52 at speeds approaching 100 mph.     A garage in Palouse suffered some damage Monday morning when fire from a garbage can caught the vinyl siding on fire. Palouse Fire Department and Whitman County Fire Dist. 12 responded at about 10:30 a.m. to the fire on Proctor Street. According to Fire Chief Scott Beeson, the belief is cotton rags that had been used to apply a wood stain and then were sealed in plastic bags where they couldn't vent and overheated in the garbage can next to the garage.     Fire Restrictions went into effect July 13 for all Whitman County- managed Parks and Trails, including Kamiak Butte, Wawawai Park, Klemgard Park, and the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail.     A recent graduate from St. John died in a roll over accident Saturday morning at about 1:30 a.m. According to a Washington State Patrol report, Ryan Willson, 18, was driving a 2006 Ford F350 northbound on Highway 23 and left the roadway on the northbound shoulder.     COLFAX – The City of Colfax is currently running an ad to hire a Chief of Police. Bruce Blood has been serving as an interim chief since being appointed May 1 by Mayor Jim Retzer.
