Members of Tricia Harwood’s Colfax River’s Edge 4H cats, rabbits and guinea pigs club work on handling June 28. This is the fourth year of the growing group, which was awarded a $212 grant last year from the Washington State 4H Foundation Small Grant Program. Harwood said that the funds have been spent on 4H curriculum books, American Rabbit Breeders Association Standard of Perfection books and other supplies. Palmer of Wallula, who for the past three months has been engaged on these lines in the absence of Engineers Maultner, Parker and Barnhart. ArtWalk set in Pullman The 4th Annual ArtWalk, a free, self-guided public art show, will be Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, in downtown Pullman. It will feature 41 regional artists in more than 20 different locations. Samuel Fisch, a graduate of Garfield-Palouse High School, won the Avon F. Mayfield Award at the Central Oregon Community College in Bend. The award recognizes scholarship, leadership, citizenship and service, Fisch earned an associate of arts Oregon transfer degree with a 3.86 grade-point average. Joe also listed deceased family members as follows: Bill Mills, J.P Glorfield, Clyde Boyle, Jack R. They split into two groups with one group being in a remote village and the other at Camp Victoria. They helped with building projects and outreach. Hooper Keith and Carla Danielson hosted a Hooper Crossing three-day advanced obstacle/horsemanship clinic at their ranch June 21, 22 and 23. Ten riders participated, learning roping, cattle work and obstacles. The group enjoyed a barbecue Saturday evening and finished up the weekend with a friendly competition. Endicott The Fourth of July in Endicott by the end of the evening brought hundreds of people for the fireworks. The planning part of the Fourth was done by the Endicott Community Club with Gail Bilow being the head of the committee. The execution of the plan was done by Gail and Dave Bilow, Endicott Community Club, Endicott Park and Rec and many community people who helped set up, run events and clean up. A July 20 wedding in Valleyford is planned by Megan Teade and Tyler Moos. She is the daughter of Steve and Julie Teade of Colfax, and he is the son of Rich and Sandy Moos of Edwall. Megan graduated from Colfax High School in 2008 and from Saint Martin’s University in 2012 with a degree in biology. She is currently employed by Odessa Memorial Hospital. Stacy Aune grew up on a farm near Othello where her family grew potatoes and onions and raised race horses on irrigated land. Her family home was on land much flatter than the family farm near LaCrosse where she and Leonard and their children live. Her grandparents moved from the Idaho Falls area to Prosser, then later to the Othello area when irrigation water became available. The annual Palouse Ice Cream Social brought a crowd to the city park in Palouse Sunday. The event raised approximately $400 for the Palouse Community Center’s general fund, according to organizer Crystal Bailey. Some people are hoping to form a new, planned community in Benewah County, Idaho. According to the St. Maries Gazette Record, the new community will be walled and all residents, up to 7,000, will have to sign an agreement or pledge. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy has contempt for a swath of his fellow citizens. If you disagree with him about gay marriage, indeed, if you merely think the federal government should continue to define marriage the traditional way while the states define it however they want, then you are a bigot.
