    Glen M. Smith, 83, a resident of Pullman, Wash., and a longtime resident of Palouse, Wash., passed away on June 8, 2022 at the Avalon Care Center in Pullman, Wash. Glen was born July 27, 1938 in Buhl, Idaho, to Clyde and Ada M. (Skidmore) Smith. He attended school at Filer, Idaho, graduating from high school in 1956. Glen joined the U.S. Navy on May 29, 1956, and was discharged on July 22, 1959. He married Helen Martin on Aug. 22, 1959, at Church of the Redeemer in Salmon, Idaho. The couple...

Larry attended his early schooling at Farmington, Wash. He then attended the Upper Columbia Academy near Spangle, Wash., and graduated in 1965.     COLFAX – The county library district is among 77 awarded a $20,000 Acton Family Giving COVID Library Relief Fund grant. “This is a post-COVID, get-back-to-normal activity for libraries,” Colfax branch manager Shirley Cornelius said. “This grant was offered to rural libraries across the nation.     COLFAX— Despite record high fuel prices, Whitman County motorists are spending less money on gasoline and diesel than across much of the state. This morning, GasBuddy.com reported the average price for a gallon of gasoline at a new record level of $5.51 per gallon in Washington State. That’s the fifth-highest price in the nation.     PALOUSE - Localized flooding was reported in Palouse, Tekoa and other areas of Whitman County on Monday. The rising Palouse river prompted the city of Palouse to offer sandbags to residents.
